The Western District

The Joint Western District Councils of
Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma Present:

The Western District Day of Music

Saturday February 2, 2008

The Joint Western District Council strongly believes in the importance of two factors in our organizations:

  1. The Love of Music
  2. The Strength of our Brotherhood and Sisterhood

As a way to facilitate and encourage the development of these two factors, The Western District Day of Music was created. We charge ALL chapters to bring music into their communities the first weekend in February. Start brainstorming NOW... and remember that no matter what you do, it must involve MUSIC!

Here are some ideas:

  • Have a small ensemble play at a local Senior Citizen or Nursing Home
  • Organize an Instrument Petting Zoo at a local elementary school
  • Play a concert at a local school
  • Volunteer at a local High School Band Festival
  • Have a Sight Reading Day with your Band or Chapter(s)
  • Organize and perform in chamber ensembles with your Chapter(s)
  • Have a Brotherhood/Sisterhood Talent Show to show off your members’ musical talents
