Requirements and Applications
Convention "For Sake" Awards
These awards are presented at each District Convention to those chapters who successfully implement a project for music's, service's, or community's sake. Chapters receiving this award have gone above and beyond to promote music and service to their college band and community.
Applications will be due before Western District Convention at a date specified by the Western District Member-at-Large and Vice President of Special Projects.
For Music's Sake Award
The For Music's Sake Award is presented in
recognition of the project that best promotes music in the
college/university and/or community.
For Service's Sake Award
For Service's Sake Award is presented in
recognition of the project that best promotes service to college bands.
For Community's Sake Award
The For Community's Sake Award is presented in
recognition of the project that best promotes community service
unrelated to music.
ΚΚΨ Ideal Active Achievement Award

This award was created and the criterion was built by the KKΨ programs
Committee at the 2002 WD Convention in Flagstaff. This is an award to
recognize Kappa Kappa Psi active members of the Western District who
exemplify the meaning of an ideal member. This is an award to honor an
active who goes above and beyond the call of duty of this organization -
someone who is the epitome of the phrase "Strive for the Highest."
The award will be given out three times a year. Nominations are due by June 1st, December 1st,
and March 1st. The recipient of the award will be announced over the Western District Listserv and
a certificate will be presented to the named active. The recipient will be selected by the WD KKΨ
District Council through nominations from other active members.
This award is a great opportunity to recognize someone in your chapter or another chapter on a higher level and enables the district to recognize great individuals who contribute so much to Kappa Kappa Psi!
Criteria for nominating someone for the award:
- Each candidate shall win no more than once a year (district convention to district convention)
- The candidate may be a chapter officer
- The candidate shall have paid their active dues on time
- The candidate shall be active in band
- The candidate shall be someone who exemplifies Kappa Kappa Psi standards
ΤΒΣ Distinguished Sister Award

This award has been designed to recognize strong Active members of the
Western District who exemplify our Purposes, Factors, and Qualities
through their attitude, involvement and participation, leadership, and
inspiration in TBΣ and in their respective band programs.
All applications will be reviewed by the TBΣ District Council, which will then decide upon the winner. An email will
be sent out to the listserv stating the recipient for each term. As a Distinguished Sister, you become a finalist for
the AWESOME Award to be chosen from all the Distinguished Sister recipients and reviewed by the TBΣ Programs Committee.
At the District Convention Awards Ceremony, each Distinguished Sister will be recognized and awarded with a
certificate.
Note: By sending in an application, you are verifying that all information is correct to your knowledge and all
requirements are met. If it is learned that this is not the case, the application/nomination will be null and
void.
Requirements:
- The applicant must be an Active or Associate member of TBΣ or KKΨ in good
standing
- The nominee must be an Active member of TBΣ in good standing
- The DSA will be awarded three times each year. The full application/nomination form is due by midnight on September 15th, December 15th, and March 15th.
ΤΒΣ Outstanding Graduating Senior Award

This award is being given to recognize an outstanding
graduating Sister of Tau Beta Sigma for their dedication to the Ideals
of the Sorority and the lasting impact they will be leaving on their
chapter.
