Group HistoryOur chapter was established in 2002. We support the Pep Band and Wind Ensemble at UCI. We are in charge of moving equipment to and from the basketball games, providing refreshments, and making sure everything runs smoothly. Some of our annual service projects include performing at a daycare and helping out at the local high school. Our largest fundraiser is going into Los Angeles to attend TV tapings. Our school mascot is Peter the Anteater, who won the election as a write-in candidate. Hardly a feat, considering the opposition: a Golden Bear (for UC tradition), an eagle, a unicorn, and “none of the above.” Peter is modeled after the anteater in Johnny Hart’s “B.C.” comic strip, which is also the source of the sound he makes, “Zot!” Our chapter mascot is Crabs the Crab, who was acquired after our Delta class went through. He perennially goes missing after our Third Degree (we’re looking at you, Psi). That same year, we created our chapter motto ('A Posse ad Esse' -- meaning 'From Possibility to Actuality'). Chapter Mascot: Crabs the Crab. He is a crab. We have had him since the 2004-2005 school year. |
